First Evangelical Congregational Church of Uxbridge

To Our Church

Our Story

The First Evangelical Congregational Church of Uxbridge was first organized on February 3, 1731. Pastor Nathan Webb, uncle of John Adams, was the first pastor and served for for one years. Original members of the church were revolutionary leaders and patriotic provocateurs- Lydia Taft, Seth Read, Baxter Hall, and Samuel Spring. Our church community is rich in history.

Our current worship space, designed in the Greek Revival style, was completed in 1833. Today, the space has the original timber frames and the laid granite stone foundation. The space has been carefully maintained and remains almost unaltered from its original design.

We have generations of families that currently attend our church. Our community focuses on love, service, and camaraderie. We love to see new faces and welcoming to those interested in worshipping with us.

"This is my commandment, that you love one another
as I have loved you"
John 15:12
